What’s a clothing swap?

A clothing swap is a free event for you to bring your gently-worn women’s clothes, shoes and accessories and trade them out for some “new-to-you” items.

How does the swap work?

Items are dropped off the week leading up to the swap. Volunteers will check everything, track totals and sort the clothes.

On Saturday, March 16th you come shop the swap from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Bloomington Center for Performing Arts.

All of the items will be organized by size and type and will be hanging on clothing wracks or neatly folded on tables.

how are items totaled?

To keep things simple and easy, all items will be swapped 1-for-1.
So, if you put 25 items into the swap, you will be able to take any 25 items of your choice!

Whats the minimum number of items I need to swap?
Is there a max?

You need at least 5 items to swap and there is no max. The more, the better!

Will there be a place to try things on?

Yes! We have fitting rooms set-up in large bathroom stalls and will have full length mirrors placed around the event for you to use.

What items are accepted?

We accept women’s clothing in sizes 0-24, maternity clothes, women’s shoes in sizes 5-13 and all types of accessories!

What’s not accepted?

We aren’t super picky! Just as long as it’s not baby, kids, juniors or men’s clothes.
And nothing with holes, rips, stains, fabric pilling or bad smells. No underwear, pajamas, socks or hats.

When do i find out how many items i get to swap?

Everybody’s totals will be collected and posted on Friday, March 15th.

What happens to my things that aren’t accepted?

You can choose to have your unaccepted items returned at the end of the swap or we can add them to our “free” table.

What happens to the leftover clothes after the swap?

Our volunteers sort all of the leftovers out and donate them to various local charities and organizations like the YouthBuild Career Closet, Kingdom Closet, Worn Again Too, Kara and Kaylee’s Kloset & More!

Will I get my leftover clothes back?

Since we don’t use tags, there is no way to sort clothes out after the swap.
If you would like to take back any of your items, it will count towards your total.

Is there a cost?

The BloNo Clothing Swap is completely free!!

Can I just show up and swap?

We require you to register and drop-off your clothes ahead of time so we have a chance to sort and organize the swap for you.

Can I just donate clothes? I’m not interested in swapping.

Absolutely! We’d be happy to take your donations and add them to the swap.

Where do we drop our items off?

Drop-off locations will be announced Sunday, March 10th.
The locations are determined by volunteers who sign-up for their home to be a drop spot.

Can I volunteer to help out?

Yes, we’d love your help! PLUS all volunteers earn early bird shopping before the swap!

We have three ways you can volunteer:

Clothing Drop Spot [ March 11th - March 15th ]
Check & sort items dropped-off at your home

Event Worker [ March 16th | 10:00am-2:00pm ]
Help greet, check-out or rehang clothes

Set-up & Tear-down [ March 16th | 8-9:30am & 2-3pm ]
Help neatly hang and lay-out all of the clothes by size and type
